ARRIVING IN MUNDUK:

Munduk is located in the northern region of Bali, but fairly easy to get to by private car. From Nusa Lembongan, it only takes about 3 hours (including a boat ride). If you are arriving from the Canggu or Ubud region, it takes less than 2 hours.

Mel’s Travel Tip: Hiring a private driver in Bali is VERY inexpensive. Not sure who to use? Send me a direct message on Instagram or my contact page and I will give you the driver’s information we used. The driver, Putu, was so kind, helpful, and always on time.

STAY:

Munduk Moding Plantation Nature Resort & Spa

There are many hotels in the region to choose from, but once you scroll through the photos of Munduk Plantation, you will instantly be sold. The infinity pool truly feels like you are on the edge of the world. The vast clouded sky meets the lush green forest as you swim about, mesmerized by the view.

Munduk Plantation truly is a dream. Atop a mountain and nestled within an organic coffee plantation, this eco-luxury resort offers two stunning infinity pools, a hot tub, restaurants on-site, and world-class service. Spend your day at the spa or enjoy one of the many activities: cycling, canoeing, hiking, eating, or trekking to waterfalls.

Considering how luxurious this hotel is, the cost is very reasonable. Depending on the room and time of year the price can range anywhere from $150 to $250 a night for a jungle view room. If you truly want to splurge, they offer luxury villas with a private pool. Regardless of which room you choose, I guarantee you will have an incredible, relaxing stay.

SEE:

After you settle into your stunning hotel room, walk around the Plantation and enjoy the surroundings. Since you are only here for a shorter period of time, I recommend spending at least half a day relaxing and soaking in the nature around you.

One of the perks of Munduk Moding Plantation Nature Resort & Spa is they provide you with a binder full of activities and spa treatments. I suggest picking an active activity for the morning/afternoon and a spa treatment for later in the evening.

Quick Munduk Guide:

  • Sip on a Munduk Coffee Tasting
  • Relax in the hot tub & Infinity Pool
  • Canoe across Danau Buyan Lake or Tamblingan Lake
  • Swing at the Munduk Swing Viewpoints
  • Visit Handara Gate Bali
  • Go on a Waterfall Trek
    • Banyumala Twin Waterfall
    • Sekumpul Waterfall (Arguably the grandest waterfall)
    • Aling-Aling Waterfall
    • Git Git Waterfall
  • Visit Ulun Danu Beratan Temple

Quick 3-Day Itinerary:

Day One: Check into the Munduk Moding Plantation Nature Resort & Spa and soak in your surroundings. Walk around the Munduk Plantation and enjoy a coffee tasting. Then spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the hot tub & swimming in the infinity pools.

Day Two: Pick an adventurous activity to do! The activity we picked was a cycling adventure, a canoe ride on the lake, then a hike to a few smaller waterfalls. We ended the day with a relaxing massage and a delicious dinner on-site.

Day Three: Visit one of that many waterfalls on your drive to Ubud. Our private driver, Putu took us on a waterfall trek to Sekumpul falls. Sekumpul waterfall was by far the grandest. After the waterfalls, we then stopped and visited the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, before heading into Ubud.
